I dedicate my very first, very short, blog post to Walt Whitman. I spent my entire working life, save some time in Rome, Paris and London, in New York City. So Walt, you can shout out your words to your city muse here…because you speak to me with your words, your glorious poem!
“Keep your woods, O Nature, and the quiet places by the woods.. Give me faces and streets! …give me interminable eyes! Let me see new ones every day!..Give me such shows! give me the streets of Manhattan!”

Good work on your site.
More to come.
Thank you, Thomas–I could not have done it without you!
Nancy — “Crosstown Magic Bus” is a beautiful piece of writing. I am going to send a copy to a client of mine who has a Down Syndrome child. You had one of those amazing New York experiences. I want to read it again tonight when I get home tonight. You are a tremendous writer with a gigantic, sensitive heart and a keen eye for the world around you. You see things many people either don’t see or don’t want to see. You see the beauty in those children. I was particularly struck by the way you described the hands. I will share your piece with some friends so they can feel what I felt when I read it. I am continually happy to know you.
Thank you!!!!
Bob
Dearest Bob,
How wonderful to read your comment! Thank you for your support, your love, your incredible friendship over the years…DECADES! How blessed we are to have each other! Your words here mean so much to me, and inspire me to keep writing. Thank you for these beautiful words that give me strength to keep writing, to focus and to keep seeing things that “many people either don’t see or don’t want to see.” That is absolutely beautiful, and I’m so grateful to you! I’m so touched that you shared with your friends as well.
Love you then, now and always,
Nancy
you made me cry. and
then I smiled.
I cried because I sense your pain and frustration and shared the frustration that Ella must have, but maybe, hopefully, she is happy and content with her different world.
You put a breathing pulse into those written words, as though you loaded me into your backpack to carry me with you.
You are so amazing and you have progressed so far since those very dark days not that far ago. The memories Sidney gave you must have been unbelievably pleasing for Ella too. The smiles of those kiddies on the crosstown bus reinforced the fact that those that have challenges dont see their challenges until us “normals” point things out to them.
You have such special talents, and if you keep on writing and surrounding yourself with all different children and positive thinking adults someone will finally recognize you and then the curtain of the stage of life will be totally open.
love ya
michael
